Dr. Zhizhen Ye, now is a professor at Zhejiang University, Chairman of Academic Committee of School of Materials Science and Engineering.
He received BS degree in Electrical Engineering, received MS degree and Ph.D. in Optical Engineering from Zhejiang University in 1981, 1984 and 1987 respectively.
During 1990-1992, he was a Visiting Scientist and worked with Professor R. Reif in Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at M.I.T. USA. He was promoted to professor in 1994, and served as the director of State Key Laboratory of Silicon Materials during 1997 to 2009, the vice-dean of College of Materials Science and Chemical Engineering during 1999 to 2009, the director of Center for Nano-Science & Technology during 2001 to 2007. From 2009 to 2013, he served as the chairman of Department of Materials Science and Engineering.
He has published 558 SCI papers, 98 Chinese patents and 1 USA patent. He has won the second prize of the National Award for Natural Science, and 8 awards in Advancement of Science and Technology from State Education Ministry of China and the Government of Zhejiang Province. He was appointed as “Qiushi” professor of Zhejiang University in 2006, and outstanding scholar of Zhejiang Province in 2008.
Dr. Ye leads a research group for thin films and devices of wide band-gap semiconductors, sensing materials, nano-structured materials.
