A UHF Balanced Broadband 20W Power Amplifier

Abstract: A UHF balanced broadband high power amplifier is reported.The balanced structure based on LANGE couplers is fabricated with PCB technology.By adjusting the resonant tanks at the coupling ports and the through ports, some trade-offs between loss and symmetry are made.The LANGE coupler’s performance is improved for the balanced amplifier.In the frequency band of 1.35~1.85GHz, the balanced power amplifier based on the LANGE couplers has a gain of more than 43dB, an output power of more than 20W, and gain flatness of less than ±0.56dB.
