Abstract: Taking into account the interaction of the electron with optical phonon modes, the temperature dependences of polaron in parabolic quantum wires in polar crystals, which are both weak-coupling and strong-coupling,were investigated respectively by using Tokuta’s improved linear combination operator and the variational methods.Numerical calculation for RbCl and CdTe crystals indicated that the effective mass m* of polaron will decrease with increasing of temperature T,the mean number N of optical phonon and vibration frequency λ of polaron will increase with increasing of temperature T.

Key words: polaroneffective massmean number of optical phonontemperature dependence
